Columbus, Ga. -Heavy and steady rains washed out final day action at the 2001 NFCA/Leadoff Classic on Sunday.

The UIC softball team's game with Georgia started, but never finished as what started as a rain delay turned into an evenutal cancellation of one of the spring's premeir tournaments.

The Flames finished the event with a 1-3 record and are 10-10 on the season. Next weekend, UIC travels to Cape Girardeau, Mo., to compete in the SE Missouri State Classic.
