Las Cruces, N.M. - The UIC softball team picked up its second straight win and leveled its record at the 27th Annual Troy Cox Classic with a 4-1 victory over host New Mexico State on Saturday night.

The Flames are now 2-2 this weekend and 3-9 overall this season. The Aggies dropped to 0-4 at the their own tournament and 1-14 overall.

Senior pitcher Alison Aguilar (2-2) led the way for UIC on Saturday night as she carried a no-hitter into the final inning only to have it snapped when Breana Bohls led off the bottom of the seventh with a single to center.

Kristen Grow would later double home Bohls for the Aggies' lone run, but Aguilar retired the next three batters in order to earn her second win of the season.

The Flames were paced at the plate by juniors Cameron Astiazaran (2-for-3) and Sara Hernandez (2-for-2, RBI), as well as senior Amanda Rivera (1-for-3, 2 RBI), who now has six RBI in her last two outings.

Hernandez started the scoring for UIC in the top of the first inning with an RBI single, which scored Astiazaran.

The score would remain 1-0 Flames until the top of the sixth inning when Rivera delivered a one-out, two-run single to give UIC a 3-0 lead.

The Flames tacked on an insurance run in the top of the seventh inning when freshman Elizabeth Jacoby score on a passed ball.
