Box Score

ARLINGTON, Texas - Oklahoma State's Nicci Quiroz scored an unearned run on a throwing error in the fifth inning and the Cowgirls made it hold up for a 1-0 upset victory over #22 UIC in the elimination round of the UTA Invitational in Arlington, Texas.

The loss knocked UIC (7-3) out of the championship bracket, but the Flames can still capture the Invitational's consolation bracket.

The game was a classic pitcher's dual, with each team mustering just three hits apiece. Senior Samantha Iuli turned in a spectacular pitching performance for the Flames scattering three hits over seven innings while allowing no earned runs. Despite her strong night, Iuli (4-1) was credited with the loss -- her first of the season.
