Continuous rain and unsafe playing conditions have cancelled the UIC softball team's final scheduled game against Utah State at the San Diego Classic. The Flames return to Chicago after being forced to go without playing a single game throughout the weekend and will begin preparations for their final tournament at the Hoosier Classic, March 14-16.
Thunderstorms throughout California have been a problem for the UIC softball team all weekend, as its pick-up games scheduled for Saturday afternoon against Colorado State and Lehigh have been cancelled. The Flames will return to San Diego, where they are scheduled to go up against Utah State at noon CT on Sunday in their first and final game of the San Diego Classic at the USD Softball Complex.
For the second-consecutive day, inclement weather has driven cancellations at the San Diego Classic. The UIC softball team will now head to Imperial Valley College in Imperial, Calif., to face Colorado State at 3 p.m. CT and Lehigh at 5:15 p.m. on Saturday in a pair of games outside of the tournament.
