CHICAGO - The UIC women's soccer team is set to wrap up exhibition play with a home match against IPFW Saturday at 7:30 pm at Flames Field. The Flames are looking for a win after posting a 2-2 tie against Bowling Green on Tuesday.

The Mastodons are coming off a 1-1 tie against Northern Illinois Tuesday night in a home exhibition match. IPFW recorded 14 shots to the Huskies 10 in its first match of the season, which ended after two periods and did not go into overtime.

Tuesday night against Bowling Green, UIC responded to a 2-0 deficit with two unanswered goals to end the game in a draw. The match differed from a regular game in that the two teams played three periods consisting of 30 minutes, as opposed to the regular two periods consisting of 45 minutes.

Freshman Emily Wauer netted the first goal for the Flames and ended the night leading UIC with three shots on goal. Freshman Emi Yamamoto scored the game-tying goal off a penalty kick at the 68:11 mark and ended the match with two shots reaching goal.

Freshman Kelly Fritz earned the start in goal and made three saves in 30 minutes of action. Junior Ana Hernandez relieved Fritz in the second period and also stopped three shots while freshman Annie DiCanio made one stop in the final period.

Following the game against IPFW, UIC will open up the regular season on the road against SIUE. The match is set for Friday, August 22 at 7:00 pm.
