CRYSTAL LAKE, Ill. - The inaugural UIC women's soccer season is set to begin in 34 days when the Flames travel to play Bowling Green on Aug. 12 for an exhibition match. One of the squad’s 20 newcomers has been featured by the Northwest Herald as Rachel Zobott (Huntley/Lake in the Hills, Ill.) spoke with columnist Barry Bottino about being a part of history at UIC. Head coach Brian Rigby also spoke with Bottino about the squad's excitement for the first matches in program history.

Zobott is a 5-foot-10 freshman defender who led Huntley to three-consecutive regional championship titles. During her sophomore and junior seasons, Zobott was honored with All-Conference and All-Area accolades.

The Flames will kick off the regular season on Aug. 22 in Edwardsville, Ill., against SIUE. UIC will then play its first regular season home game on Aug. 24 against Iowa. The Iowa match will be the first of 10 contests played at Flames Field.
