QUICK RECAP:
UIC Head Women's Soccer Coach Brian Rigby announced the addition of 20 newcomers slated to fill out the Flames' roster for the inaugural 2014 season set to begin this coming fall. The 20 players will join a list of five existing student-athletes that have been attending school and practicing since August of 2013. UIC Athletics added women's soccer in November of 2012 with the hiring of Rigby.

 LARGER PICTURE:
-The five existing players, four freshmen and a sophomore, were on campus during the 2013-14 academic year and set the foundation for UIC women's soccer with daily training and practices. Those players include Flo Beshiri, Kendall Wilde, Jasmin Carrera, Cecilia Magos and Elena Bernstein.
-Beshiri, Wilde, Carrera, Magos and Bernstein trained at least five days a week and worked on drills with volunteers who served as practice players.
-Rigby also has hired Julie Colhoff and Jamie Forbes as assistant women's soccer coaches. Colhoff and Forbes each played four seasons in the Horizon League and achieved tremendous success on the field.
-The official schedule for the inaugural season of UIC women's soccer was released on June 4 and features 10 home contests starting on Aug. 24 against Iowa.
