    CHICAGO - UIC Head Women's Soccer Coach Brian Rigby recently announced the addition of 20 newcomers slated to fill out the Flames' roster for the inaugural 2014 season set to begin this coming fall.  The 20 players will join a list of five existing student-athletes that have been attending school and practicing since August of 2013.  UIC Athletics added women's soccer in November of 2012 with the hiring of Rigby.

    "The 2014 class is a group of young women that will display commitment, character and excellence while representing our women's soccer program on and off the field," said Rigby.  "This is a talented group eager to leave their mark on the UIC community and NCAA soccer landscape.  We have added quality and depth in all areas of the field which gives us flexibility and different tactical options.  We are excited for their arrival in August and look forward to having everyone see them play and compete."

    The five existing players have been on campus during the 2013-14 academic year and have also been setting the foundation for UIC women's soccer with daily training and practices.  Those players include Flo Beshiri, Kendall Wilde, Jasmin Carrera and Cecilia Magos and Elena Bernstein.

    Jessica Belsito, Fr. - Ada, Mich. (Grand Rapids Crew Juniors)
    Belsito helped her team win three consecutive conference championships in her first three seasons at Forest Hills Northern. During her junior year, she led the Huskies to a sectional championship and was named team captain prior to her final campaign.  Belsito was selected to the All-Conference team in her sophomore season and collected All-City, All-Region and All-State honors as a junior. The Ada, Mich., native played club soccer for Grand Rapids Crew Juniors and TNT U18. She also played basketball at Forest Hills Northern.

    Annie DiCanio, Fr. - Elmhurst, Ill. (NSA)
    As a freshman, DiCanio helped her team win the conference, sectional and regional championship. She earned the role of team captain as a senior. The Elmhurst, Ill., native played club soccer for the Naperville Soccer Association (NSA) and was a member of the National Honors Society. She also played volleyball and basketball at York.

    Olivia Everin, Fr. - Ada, Mich. (Grand Rapids Crew Juniors)
    Everin helped her team win back-to-back conference championships in her sophomore and junior seasons at Forest Hills Central.  She played club soccer for Grand Rapids Crew Juniors, where she guided her team to a 2014 Michigan state Cup Championship.  The Ada, Mich., native was a member of the National Honors Society and also played golf at Forest Hills Central.

    Kelly Fritz, Fr. - Lemont, Ill. (Windy City Pride)
    Fritz piloted her team to three consecutive conference championships in her first three seasons at Lemont, as well as the sectional and regional championships in her freshman and junior seasons.  As a junior, she was named team captain and collected All-State honors. She played club soccer for Windy City Pride where she helped her team win the U.S. Club Nationals and State Cup in 2013. The Lemont, Ill., native also ran cross country for the Indians.  

    Mackenzie Fuller, Fr. - Aurora, Ill. (Academy United SC)
    In her first two seasons with Waubonsie Valley, Fuller helped her team win back-to-back conference, sectional and regional championships. As a sophomore, she was named to the All-Conference team. She served as team captain for her club soccer team, Academy United SC, where she led her team to a State Cup Championship in 2013.

    Christina Hovatter, Fr. - Hillsboro, Mo. (SLSG)
    Hovatter led her team to back-to-back conference, sectional and state championships in her sophomore and junior seasons, and also won the state championship as a sophomore. The Hillsboro, Mo., native was named to the All-Conference, All-Region, and All-State teams consecutively in her sophomore and junior seasons. She served as a two-time captain in her junior and senior seasons. She was also co-captain of her club team, SLSG, where she led the team to back-to-back state championships in 2012 and 2013. She also earned Class I All-Region Defender of the Year honors in the 2012-2013 season. Hovatter also played basketball at St. Piux.

    Haley Kittle, Fr. - Rockford, Ill. (Rockford Raptors FC)
    As a freshman, Kittle set Rockford Christian's program record for assists in one season with 22. She also helped her team win the conference and sectional championships as a freshman. The Rockford, Ill., native was named offensive MVP in her junior season and was selected to the All-Conference and All-Region teams. The three-time All-Conference honoree served as team captain as a senior and played club soccer for the Rockford Raptors. She also was a member of the National Honors Society and played basketball at Rockford Christian.

    Caroline Keenan, Fr. - Middleton, Wis. (Wisconsin Rush)
    Keenan led her team to an undefeated season as captain during her freshman year and followed that up with a sectional championship during her sophomore campaign.  As a junior, she was named to the All-Conference team and won the conference, sectional and regional championship.  Keenan was a member of the Wisconsin Rush Soccer Club, where she won the 2012 State Cup Championship. 

    Kyleigh Maday, Fr. - Palos Heights, Ill. (Chicago Inter)
    Maday is a four-year varsity letterwinner at Providence Catholic High School.  She served as team captain in her last three seasons, and was named to the All-Conference team.  In both her sophomore and junior seasons, Maday was named to the All-Region team.  The Palos Heights, Ill. native was a member of Chicago International Soccer Club taking third-place in the 2013 State Cup Championship.

    Samantha Messina, Fr. - Orland Park, Ill. (Windy City Pride)
    Messina is a four-year letterwinner at Car Sandburg High School and during her junior season, she helped her team win a sectional and regional championship.  She played club soccer for Windy City Pride where she won the US Club National Championship and State Cup Championship. 

    Jennifer Novak, Fr. -Mount Prospect, Ill.  (Academy United SC)
    Novak is a three-year letterwinner at Mount Prospect High School and played club soccer for Academy United SC, leading her team to a 2013 State Cup Championship. Novak also guided her club to nationals during the 2012-2013 and 2013-2014 seasons. 

    Madison Pollard, Fr. - Grand Rapids, Mich. (Grand Rapids Crew Juniors)
    As a freshman, Pollard led her team to conference, sectional and regional championships and was named All-City as a junior.  The Grand Rapids, Mich., native was a member of the TNT Dynamite and Grand Rapids Crew Juniors club soccer programs.  As a member of the Grand Rapids Crew Juniors, she led her team to a second-place finish in the MRL division. During her time with TNT Dynamite, Pollard was a 2013 Michigan State Cup semifinalist and Challenge Cup Champion. 

    Paige Proctor, Fr. - New Lenox, Ill. (Windy City Pride)
    Proctor is a three-year letterwinner at Lincoln-Way Central High School and in her first two seasons, she helped her team capture conference and regional championships.  She was a member of the Windy City Pride traveling soccer club collecting the 2013 US Club Soccer National and State Cup Championship.  In 2013, Proctor earned the Defensive Player of the Year accolade. 

    Monica Ramirez, Fr. - Hoffman Estates, Ill. (Heat United)
    As a freshman, Ramirez was named to the All-Conference team and went on to help her squad win three consecutive sectional and regional championships.  As a member of the Heat United soccer club, she assisted her team to the 2013 MRL White Division Championship and a part of the 2012 U16 Illinois State Cup Semifinals.  Ramirez earned seven letters in soccer, bowling and tennis at St. Edwards. 

    Maria Veneziano, Fr. - Loveland, Ohio (CUP)
    Veneziano is a four-year letterwinner at Mount Notre Dame High School.  She served as team captain during her sophomore and senior seasons.  During her senior season, she collected MVP and All-Conference honors.  Veneziano played traveling club soccer for the Cincinnati United, going undefeated in the 2013 winter season and became State Semifinalists. 

    Emily Wauer, Fr. - Downers Grove, Ill. (Chicago Inter)
    Wauer earned five letters in soccer and basketball at Downers Grove South High School.  In her first three seasons, she helped her team collect three conference championships.  During her sophomore season, she collected sectional and regional championships.  Wauer played club soccer for the Downers Grove Roadrunners and Chicago International.  During her time with the DG Roadrunners, she served as captain and was honored with the MVP Golden Boot Award.  In 2013 Wauer and her Chicago International team earned third place in the State Cup Tournament and first place at the CASL Tournament. 

    Katie Wick, Fr. - Iowa City, Iowa (Iowa City Alliance)
    Wick is a three-year member of Regina High School soccer team.  She assisted her team win back-to-back sectional and regional titles.  In 2012, she led her team to their first trip to state tournament in school history after scoring two goals in the sub-state final.  As a junior, Wick served as team captain and was named MVP.  She played club soccer for Alliance Heatwave where she won three state and one regional championship.  Wick was Regina's first female soccer player to be named to the All-State first-team in 2013.   

    Sydney Wright, Fr. - Rockford, Ill. (Academy United SC)
    As a student at Boylan Catholic High School, Wright contributed to her teams' three consecutive undefeated seasons and conference championship titles.  During her sophomore and junior seasons, she also helped her team collect back-to-back regional championship trophies.  Wright was a member of Academy United SC team where she served as captain all four seasons and collected national rankings during her time with the program.

    Emi Yamamoto, Fr. - Naperville, Ill. (NSA)
    As a freshman, Yamamoto helped her team win the Conference Championship.  Yamamoto was a member of the Naperville Soccer Association (NSA) where she was a member of the U17 Midwest Regional League Championship team.  Also with NSA she helped her team collect U17,U16, U15 and U13 Illinois State Championship titles. 

    Rachel Zobott, Fr. - Lake in the Hills, Ill. (Crystal Lake Force)
    As a freshman, Zobott helped her team win the Conference Championship and accumulate national rankings.  During her final three seasons, she was named captain and led her team to three-consecutive regional championship titles.  During her sophomore and junior seasons, she was honored with MVP, All-Conference and All-Area accolades.  Zobott played club soccer for Heat United and Crystal Lake Force, where she served as team captain.
