The UIC women's gymnastics team recently signed two recruits during it's early signing period.  Chelsea Bailey and Alexandria (Lexi) Brown will join the squad as freshman in the fall of 2011.

"We are very excited to have Chelsea and Lexi in our program," said Head Coach Peter Jansson.  "Both gymnasts bring an extraordinary amount of talent and experience to UIC."

Both gymnasts competed for the Illinois Gymnastics Institute in Westmont, Ill.

Chelsea comes to UIC from Mother Mcauley High School in Chicago, Ill. and has plans to study in the School of Art and Architecture as a budding artist.

Lexi enters UIC from Lyons Township High School in La Grange, Ill. and hopes to study speech pathology.  Lexi's parents have strong ties to the UIC family as her mother, Laura, was coached by Peter and Mary Jansson at UIUC and her father, Rob, and Mary competed on the same club team.
