Chicago, Ill. - This Sunday, the UIC men's and women's gymnastics teams will host their annual Mixed Pairs exhibition competition at the UIC Physical Education Building at 2 p.m.

The women's squad enters the 2008 season after capturing their fifth conference championship in 2007. The Flames return eight performers from last season's NCAA South Central Regional qualifying team. 2007 MIC Athlete of the Year Annie Kachman, 2007 MIC balance beam champion Zandre Labuschagne, and 2007 MIC uneven bars champion Ashley Thurston look to lead the Flames to another conference championship in 2008.

The men's team returns after another successful campaign in 2007. The Flames, ranked 13th by the GymInfo 2008 Preseason Coaches Poll, will feature NCAA Finalist Anthony May and 2007 ECAC Rookie of the Year Nikolai Korepanov. The squad features ten newcomers that will strive bring much success in the 2008 season.

The meet will take place at the UIC Physical Education Building in the main gymnasium. Admission is free.
