Women's Gymnastics Newsletter

CHICAGO – The UIC women’s gymnastics team releases its first newsletter of the 2011-12 season, which highlights the squad’s newcomers and the various events the squad has been a part of during the fall. Newcomers: The squad welcomes seven new faces to the squad. Among them are CItali Cuevas, Chelsea Bailey, Lexi Brown, Alyssa Cruz, Tamara Moten, Gabrielle May and Katelynn Johnson. Returners: Returning to the UIC gymnastics squad are Andrea Skala, Rachel Montoya, Emily Lawrence, Chantel Turk, Erin Duggan, Kim Randall, Catherine Dion and Cynthia Lemieux-Guillemette. 2011-12 Season: The season is highlighted by a trip to top-ranked Florida, welcoming North Carolina State and playing host to the Conference Championship in March. Fall Activities: The fall activities range from the freshman convocation to setting a world record to Halloween pumpkin carving. Mixed Pairs: The squad kicks off the 2011-12 season with the Mixed Pair Meet, which is set to begin at 2:00 p.m. (CT) inside the Physical Education Building in Chicago, Ill. Homecoming Alumni Event: Sat., Jan. 21 the Flames face North Carolina State, which coincides with their alumni event meet.
