Chicago, Ill. - The UIC women's gymnastics team unveiled their 2009 schedule on Tuesday, with match-ups against regional foes and some of the nation's best programs on the docket for the upcoming season.

The Flames look to start a new year off in the right direction at home against Auburn on January 4 at 2 p.m. The squad will be in action the following four weekends in January, first heading to Raleigh, North Carolina to take on NC State on the 9th, and then face SEMO on the road in Cape Girardeau, Mo. on the 17th.

After two consecutive weekends away from PEB, UIC welcomes visiting opponents Ohio State on the 24th and Western Michigan on the 31st of January. Seattle Pacific and Northern Illinois will matchup against the Flames on Feb. 13 at 7 p.m.

The lone competition for the Flames outside of the Land of Lincoln in the final stretch of the 2009 campaign will be down in Baton Rouge, La., when UIC takes on LSU on February 20th.

In the final two months of the season, the Flames will face a good deal of local competition.

The team meets up with Illinois for the first time on February 6th at Navy Pier as well as on the road in Champaign on March 7. The next stop is Normal, Ill. where the squad will compete against Illinois State on February 25th. The Flames will in turn host ISU on Saturday, February 28th.

UIC will look to regain the State of Illinois title when they host the Illinois Classic on March 14 at the PEB.

The team will close out the regular season at the MIC championships, held at ISU on March 21.
