Aug. 20, 2008

Chicago, Ill. - Four UIC women's gymnasts were named Scholastic All-Americans for the 2008 season, the National Association of Collegiate Gymnastics Coaches/Women announced earlier this month.

To be eligible for the honor, student-athletes must maintain above a 3.5 grade point average for the season.

Tristan Erlenbaugh (3.79, communications), Emily Fiorilli (4.00, undecided), Justine Jaworowicz (3.70, accounting) and Zandre Labuschagne (3.57, psychology) represented UIC among the top female gymnasts in the country.

Labuschagne, a senior from South Africa, earned her third straight All-American honor after leading the Flames on the balance beam in 2008.

Senior Erlenbaugh and redshirt sophomore Justine Jaworowicz picked up their second scholastic honors, while Fiorilli earned her first award after a strong freshman campaign.
