Women's Gymnastics Receives International Commitment

CHICAGO - The UIC women's gymnastics team has received a National Letter of Intent from Catherine Dion, head coaches Peter and Mary Jansson announced today. Dion, a French-Canadian Elite Gymnast and native of Gatineau, Quebec, Canada, has participated at the club level for several years with Gymélites Gymnastique. "She is from the same club outside Ottawa that we have three other alumni from: Regine Charron, Veronique Meunier and Jennifer O'Neil, all of whom had stellar careers at UIC." said Peter Jansson. Dion, a former Canadian National Team member, has competed internationally since 2005. She is an all-around competitor and will enroll at UIC in the fall.
