CHICAGO - The UIC women's gymnastics team will have three Flames representatives at the NCAA South Central Regional, held on April 4 at the University of Arkansas, the NCAA office announced earlier this week.

Senior Annie Kachman qualified in the all-around for the second straight season. As a junior, Kachman placed seventh at the Norman, Okla. Regional in 2008.

DeAvera Todd was an individual qualifier on the vault for the second year in a row, and will serve as an alternative in the all-around competition. Like Kachman, Todd placed seventh a year ago on her specialty event.

Zandre Labuschagne will be the alternate on the uneven bars, competing if individual event specialist Christina Sundgren of SEMO withdraws from the event.

Kachman is one of five all-around competitors chosen from a non-qualifying team, and will advance to the national championships if she places in the top two next weekend.

Stanford, Michigan, Arizona, Arizona State, Southern Utah and the host Razorbacks rounded out the six-team field.

For ticket information for the NCAA regional on April 4, please contact the Arkansas ticket department at (479) 575-5151.
