Women's Gymnastics Set For Illinois Classic|

CHICAGO - The UIC women's gymnastics team travels to Champaign, Ill., for the Illinois Classic to confront the University of Illinois, Illinois State and Northern Illinois Saturday at 4:00 p.m. (CT) inside Huff Hall.
The Flames enter the meet after a victory in a three-team meet in Shreveport La., having scored a 193.675 over Centenary's 193.200 and Illinois State's 192.950. The Flames head into Saturday's quadrangular meet with a No. 30 national ranking.
Key contributors in the victory on March 10 include, Andrea Skala (Brookfield, Ill./Flying High Sports), Cynthia Lemieux-Guillemette (St. Hubert, Quebec/Gym Richelieu),Chantel Turk (Hazelcrest, Ill./Homewood-Flossmoor), Gabrielle May (Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada/Panthers) and Erin Duggan (Mokena, Ill./Gym Kinetics).
Skala competed in the all-around position, scoring a 39.025, while Guillmette posted an exceptional 9.9 on the bars. Turk and May scored a 9.775 and a 9.725, respectively, on vault and - last but not least - Turk danced her way into a 9.825 on the floor exercise.
Awaiting the Flames are the Redbirds, Huskies and the Fighting Illini; all teams that the Flames have defeated During last week's tri-meet, the Redbirds placed third with a score of 192.950 while the Flames placed first in the meet.
Although the No. 22 ranked, Big 10, Fighting Illini is playing host to the upcoming Illinois Classic, the team has yet to defeat the Flames this season. The last time the two University of Illinois teams competed, the Flames ran away with the victory, posting a 195.250 over the Fighting Illini's 193.975.
