Cynthia Lemieux-Guillemette Named MIC Specialist Of The Week|

CHICAGO – Sophomore Cynthia Lemieux-Guillemette (St. Hubert, Quebec/Gym Richelieu) has been named the Midwest Independent Conference Specialist of the Week, it was announced by the conference Tuesday afternoon. Randall earns the honor after her performance in the meet against Michigan State (March 2), which despite dropping 195.550-195.175 the team advanced two spots to a No. 26 national ranking.
Lemieux-Guillemette competed on the parallel bars, balance beam and floor exercise, where she tied-for-second-place on each event. She posted a 9.850 to tie her season-high score on the parallel bars and a 9.800 on both the balance beam and floor exercise, which marked a personal best.
The sophomore’s season high on the bars is a 9.850, while her personal best, which was set during her rookie season is a 9.875. Her season best on the beam is a 9.825, with a personal-high of 9.875 (2011).
The 26th-ranked UIC faces conference opponent, Centenary, Saturday at 6:00 p.m. (CT) inside the Golden Dome in Shreveport, La.
