    CHICAGO – The UIC women’s gymnastics travels to Denton, Texas, to compete against Texas Women’s, Air Force and Centenary Sunday, Feb. 24, at 2 p.m. at Kitty Magee Arena.

    The Flames are coming from a loss to Denver (195.850 to 194.625) Feb. 16. Senior Chantel Turk led the flames on vault (9.875), bars (9.850) and floor (9.850). Turk also placed first all-around with a 39.300. Sophomore Alyssa Cruz scored a 9.800 on beam, placing first in the event. Junior Kimberly Randall notched a spot in the top three for vault (9.800), tying for third. Sophomore Citlali Cuevas scored a 38.925 all-around and tied for third.

    During their last meet, the Pioneers came in fourth (191.425) to Oklahoma (197.450), Boise State (195.575) and BYU (194.175) on Feb. 15. Bethany Larimer led the Pioneers by posting a 9.800 on vault, while Courtney Cochefski scored a 9.825 on bars to lead her team. Stephanie Repp helped the Pioneers with a 9.775 on vault, and Kristin Edwards scored a 9.800 on floor. Spencer Jones came in seventh in all-around with a 37.425.

    The Falcons took second (191.775) in their last tri-meet against New Hampshire (192.725) and Lindenwood (187.850) on Feb. 16. Jess Wallander tied for fifth with a 9.675 on vault to lead the Falcons, while Katie Hawthorne and Linnaea Hance ended up in a three-way tie for second on bars with scores of 9.775. Hawthorne placed first in all-around (38.725) while Hance also notched a first place finish on beam with a 9.675. Jennifer Larsen and Al Stych placed in a four-way tie for fourth on floor (9.750).

    The Ladies are entering the meet with a loss to Alaska Anchorage 191.950 to 191.150 on Feb. 10. Kellie Slater notched a three-way tie for third on vault with a 9.575, while Stephanie Strickler posted a 9.775 on bars for a first place finish. Jessica Lieblich placed first on beam (9.775) and Meg Crowley beat out teammate Robyn Price for first on floor with a 9.775. Lieblich and Crowley took second (38.650) and third (37.400) in all-around.
