Chicago, Ill.- Following her all-around win and two event victories against Southeast Missouri State this past Saturday, UIC senior Veronique Meunier (Hull, Quebec/Secondaire de l'ile) was named the Midwest Independent Conference Gymnast of the Week for the period ending Feb. 14.

Meunier picked up a vault victory with a 9.775 and scored a personal-best 9.9 in an uneven bars win to take first in the all-around (38.875) against the Redhawks on Feb. 11.

The senior's performance helped the Flames notch a season-best 194.200 in the UIC win.

Meunier is the third UIC gymnast to garner the MIC Gymnast of the Week award, following Annie Kachman and Rachael Zelinski.

UIC returns to action this Saturday night at home against Texas Woman's University at the UIC Physical Education Building at 7 p.m.
