Women's Gymnastics Plays Host To 12th-ranked Denver|

CHICAGO – The UIC women’s gymnastics team plays host to Denver Saturday at 5:00 p.m. (CT) inside the Physical Education Building.
“We are excited to the No. 12 team in the nation with us here in Chicago,” co-head coach Peter Jansson said. “We feel ready to put together a great performance on all four events this weekend and are looking forward to doing this in front of our home crowd.”
The Flames are coming from a third-place finish (193.925) against Big Ten teams Iowa (195.875) and Michigan State (194.850) on Feb. 8. Senior Chantel Turk scored a 9.775 on floor to lead the Flames. Turk also scored a 9.800 on vault and placed first in the all-around with a 38.925. Sophomore Gabrielle May scored a 9.800 on bars, while Junior Catherine Dion led UIC on beam (9.800).
The Pioneers enter the meet after beating Southern Utah 196.400 to 195.475 on Feb. 8. Moriah Martin placed first on vault (9.900) and all-around (39.375). Nina McGee scored a 9.875 on bars and beam to place first in both. Kaitlin Moorhead notched a first-place finish on floor with a 9.875.
