Chicago, Ill.- University of Illinois at Chicago sophomore Annie Kachman (St. Charles, Mo./St. Charles H.S.) was named the Midwest Independent Conference Gymnast of the Week for the period ending February 7th.

Kachman won the all-around with a career-high 39.350 against San Jose State on Saturday. She also posted career-bests scores in all four events, placing second on vault with a 9.825, second on bars with a 9.850, fourth on beam with a 9.825 and second on floor with a 9.850.

Her performance helped UIC post its best overall score (195.350) since March 17, 2004.

This is the second time this season that Kachman has earned the honor.

UIC is back in the gym to host Western Michigan this Saturday at the Physical Education Building at 7:00 p.m.
