CHICAGO - The UIC women's gymnastics team travels to Normal, Ill., to challenge Midwest Independent Conference foe Illinois State Sunday inside the Horton Field House at 2:00 p.m. (CT).

The Flames return to action after competing in Seattle, Wash., against Washington, Cal-Davis and Cal, where the team placed fourth in the competition with a score of 191.350. Host Washington claimed the event with a 194.8 score, followed by Cal (194.125) and UC Davis placed third with a 193.525 team total.

Senior Chantel Turk claimed the second-best score on the vault with a 9.825 to finish fourth overall. Senior Kim Randall collected a 9.7 on vault, and sophomore Gabrielle May notched her second career all-around effort for a 38.6 score.

The Redbirds welcome UIC after falling to Northern Illinois Jan. 13 in DeKalb, 192.175-192.050. Illinois State's Sami King claimed the all-around event with a 39.050, which earned her the honor being selected as the MIC All-Around Gymnast of the Week.

The Flames return to the Physical Education Building Feb. 2 for the State of Illinois versus State of Michigan meet at 5:00 p.m.
