Chicago, Ill. - The UIC women's gymnastics team will hit the road for the first time in 2009, traveling to Raleigh, N.C. to take on North Carolina State on Friday night at Reynold's Arena.

The Flames are looking to build off their strong start to the season. UIC posted a score of 193.850 in its opener on Jan. 4 versus Auburn, marking the team's highest mark to open a campaign in the modern scoring era.

Three UIC seniors (Annie Kachman, Zandre Labuschagne and Ashley Thurston) all earned podium finishes against the Tigers, while rookie Andrea Skala took team-high honors with a 39.0 en route to a third-place finish in the all-around competition.
