Women's Gymnastics Takes Second At Western Michigan Tri-Meet

KALAMAZOO, Mich.- Chantel Turk's team-leading showings in the vault and all-around rankings and first-place floor scores by Kayleigh Kremer and Andrea Skala helped the UIC women's gymnastics team place second in a tri-meet against Mid-American Conference opponents Western Michigan and Bowling Green at University Arena on Sunday. Turk placed third on vault with a 9.7 and fourth in the crowded all-around field with a 38.075 as the Flames totaled a 191.150, sandwiched between the Broncos' 193.925 and the Falcons' 190.675. UIC posted a meet-high 48.750 on floor exercise, led by identical 9.8 tallies from Kremer and Skala that were also matched by Liz Prouty of WMU for a three-way tie for first place. Emily Fiorilli placed third on uneven bars with a 9.725.
