Muncie, Ind. - The UIC women's gymnastics team took second-place in triangular competition at Ball State University on Friday night, defeating the host Cardinals (191.425), but couldn't catch up with Illinois State, as the Redbirds edged the Flames, 191.725-191.675.

Alyson Cacciatore took all-around honors with a total of 38.8.

Veronique Meunier added a win for the Flames winning the vault competition with a score of 9.9.

Atlin Mitchell took second on vault at 9.875.

The Flames will be back in action next weekend at home, as they host Iowa on Sunday, March 2 at the UIC Physical Education Building.

Competition is slated to start at 2:00 p.m.
