Sara Casica Gives Strong Performance In Texas Feb. 12, 2000
DENTON, Texas - Sara Casica was UIC's top all-around performer as the women's gymnastics team placed fourth out of four teams Saturday night with 192.400 points at Texas Woman's University in Denton, Texas. Casica placed sixth overall on the all-around with a score of 38.225. Oklahoma won the four-team meet with a score of 195.800 while Louisiana State finished a close second with 195.775. Texas Woman's placed third with a team score of 193.275. The Flames recorded top five performances on every event, highlighted by Casica and Gabriella Brunn each finishing in a tie for fourth on the balance beam with a score of 9.875. Casica also led UIC on the floor exercise, where she earned a score of 9.850. Brunn turned in the Flames' top performance on the vault, tying for fifth with a score of 9.825. Kim Ball paced UIC on the uneven bars with a 9.900.
