Flames Battle Big Ten Opposition

IOWA CITY - Senior Chantel Turk tied for first place in the all-around with a 38.925 Friday as UIC posted a 193.225 versus Big Ten teams Iowa (195.875) and Michigan State (194.850) Friday in Iowa City, Iowa.
UIC had the second-highest score on vault with a 48.675 and Turk placed second in the event with a 9.800. Moving on to bars, the Flames claimed a 48.550 and sophomore Gabrielle May had a 9.800.
Catherine Dion paced the UIC team on the beam with a 9.800 as the Flames collectively scored a 47.475. Turk then led UIC in the floor exercise as the scored a 9.775, while the team scored a 48.525.
Turk tied for first place in the all-around with a 38.925.
The Flames return to action Feb. 16 against Denver at 5:00 p.m. inside the Physical Education Building.
