    CHICAGO - Senior Chantel Turkposted a 9.875 on the floor exercise to lead all competitors in the event as UIC collected a 192.800 Saturday in the State of Illinois versus State of Michigan meet inside the Physical Education Building.

    The State of Michigan prevailed over Illinois, 388.725 to 386.900. Central Michigan posted a 195.875 to place first, followed by Illinois State in second place (194.100) and Eastern Michigan in third place with a 192.850 score.

    The Flames began the meet on vault where the team collected a 48.700 score. Turk posted a 9.875 on vault - the third-highest score in the event. Sophomore Gabrielle Mayled the Flames on the bars and beam with a 9.800 and 9.600, respectively. The team earned a 48.550 on bars and 46.825 on the beam.

    The meet was capped off with Turk's 9.875 performance on floor where she assisted her team to a 48.725 in the event.

    The Flames return to action Feb. 8 as the team travels to Iowa City to face the Hawkeyes, along with Michigan State at 7:00 p.m.
