CHICAGO- UIC women's gymnastics traveled to Ball State Sunday, January 24 for the Cardinal Classic. The Flames had several strong performances with a total score of 186.550 placing them behind meet host, Ball State, with a score of 190.325. In a close scoring meet SEMO finished first with 190.350.

All-arounder Rachel Montoya had a stellar meet placing third on beam, holding a solid score of 9.675. Montoya also scored well during her floor exercise finishing with an all-around score of 37.200.

After an injury left sophomore Andrea Skala out of competition for the past two meets, she returns with a strong season debut. Skala placed tenth on bars scoring 9.500.

The UIC women's gymnastics team looks forward to hitting the mat for the third time this season against meet host SEMO in Cape Girardeau, Mo. on Saturday, January 30 at 2:00 p.m.
