Raleigh, N.C. - The UIC women's gymnastics squad fell on the road at North Carolina State on Friday evening, with the Wolfpack defeating the Flames 192.675-188.875.

After sitting out the season opener against Auburn, DeAvera Todd had a strong debut at Reynolds Coliseum, placing second in three events.

The junior's runner-up efforts in the vault (9.700), beam (9.675) and the all-around (38.375) led the Flames in podium finishes against the East Atlantic Gymnastics League competition.

Zandre Labuschagne placed third on the uneven bars with a season-best 9.700 showing to round out UIC's top-three finishes for the evening.

The Flames remain on the road next weekend, traveling to SEMO on Saturday, January 17 for a 2 p.m. competition. The squad returns home to the friendly confines of the PEB when UIC hosts Ohio State on the 24th at 5 p.m.
