    Women's Gymnastics Takes Fourth at MIC Championships

    Dion receives Senior and Gymnast of the Year honors

    AS A JUNIOR (2012-13): Led UIC with an average of a 9.825 on beam against Penn State (Jan. 12) ... paced the Flames with a 9.675 on beam and scored a 9.625 on vault at Washington (Jan. 18) ... averaged a 9.775 on vault, 9.700 on bars, and took second overall with a 38.850 against Illinois State (Jan. 27) ... scored a 9.750 on vault and floor, and a 38.575 overall in the State of Illinois v. State of Michigan meet (Feb. 2) ... collected a 9.700 on vault, 9.800 on beam, 9.725 on floor and scored a 38.500 overall at Iowa (Feb. 8) ... scored a 9.700 on vault, 9.775 on bars, and 38.300 in all-around against Denver (Feb. 16) ... career best on bars (9.825) and scored a 9.700 on vault and 38.700 in all-around, at Texas Women's (Feb. 24) ... captured a 9.725 on vault, 9.775 on bars, 9.875 on beam and a 39.050 all-around at Illinois (March 10) ... scored a 9.775 on vault, 9.700 on bars, 9.775 on beam, 9.825 on floor and career-best 39.075 all-around at MIC Championship (March 23) ... competed in every meet ... broke her own all-around personal best eight times during the season ... qualified for NCAA Regionals as an individual all-around competitor ... hit 100 percent of her vaults and floor routines ... hit 10 out of 12 routines on bars and beam ... served as a team captain.

    AS A SOPHOMORE (2012):
    Competed in 13 meets, participated in vault, beam, floor at all meets and bars and all-around in three ... scored a 9.775 on vault and a 9.850 on beam and 9.625 on floor v. Seattle Pacific (Feb. 11)... scored a 9.725 on vault, 9.775 on bars, and a 9.750 on floor in the MIC Championship (March 24) ... posted a 9.875 (March 2) ... scored a 38.400 in the alll-around v. North Carolina State (Jan. 21) ... scored a 9.725 or better on vault seven times, on beam eight times and on floor four times ... received the Most Consistent Beam award and was also named Most Valuable gymnast ... she was named to First team All-MIC on March 24th.

    AS A FRESHMAN (2011):
    Competed in three events during the season ... Beam Award honoree ... named to the all-state and all-conference academic teams after achieving a 3.25 grade point average or higher for the fall.

    PREP AND PERSONAL:
    Member of the Gold Medal Quebec team for the 2007 Canada Games and of the Bronze Medal Canada Team for the 2010 Commonwealth Games in India ... born March 22, 1992 ... daughter of France Leblond and Jean Dion ... currently enrolled as a Psychology major.
