PEORIA, Ill. - The UIC women's golf team wrapped up competition in the Bradley Invitational at Weaver Ridge Golf Club in Peoria Sunday afternoon. In much improved conditions, sophomore transfer Ryann Gilley paced the Flames with an 11-over-par 83 to help UIC produce a team score of 341.

"As we have been at many times during the spring, we were led once again today by Ryann Gilley and Elizabeth Curtiss," said head coach Carol Rhoades. "Those two have been consistent all year long. I was proud of how Caitlan Smollen played, producing three consistent rounds this weekend. Our focus now is to continue to improve our team scoring leading up to the Horizon League Championships."

Gilley's 83 led a foursome of Flames shooting in the 80s in Sunday's final round. She improved upon Saturday's second 18-hole round (88) by five strokes. Sophomore Elizabeth Curtiss also enjoyed a much-improved round, carding a 13-over-par 85 after shooting 89 in Saturday's second round.

Sophomore Cherise Mangal, who produced the Flames' lone score in the 70s (79) on Saturday, shot 87 on Sunday, and ended the tournament in a tie for 22nd place overall. Meanwhile, freshman Caitlan Smollen carded an 87 on Sunday, capping off three-straight rounds in the 80s.

UIC will be idle until April 20, when the Flames compete in the two-day Loyola Invitational at the Golf Club of Illinois in Algonquin. The tourney will serve as the final tune-up prior to the Horizon League Championships from April 26-28 in Howley-in-the-Hills, Fla.
