    Garrett Chaussard Joins Women's Golf as Volunteer Assistant Coach

    Chaussard qualified for and played in the 2008 US Open at Torrey Pines

    Garrett Chaussard joined the women's golf program as a volunteer assistant coach in August of 2014. Chaussard is a PGA Class A Instructor at Cog Hill Golf and Country Club and is the fifth ranked Illinois Instructor by Golf Digest. He was named an honorable mention US Kids Top 50 Instructor from 2010-2012.

    As a competitor, Chaussard was a USGA Junior Amateur Quarterfinalist in 2000 and qualified as a USGA Amateur in 2004. Chaussard is a 2005 graduate of the University of Illinois and finished his career with the third-lowest scoring average in school history. He currently ranks eighth with a 73.99 scoring average. Chaussard participated in the Fighting Illini's NCAA Championship appearances in 2002 and 2003.

    Following his graduation, Chaussard played on the Canadian Tour and Gateway Tour. He qualified for and played in the 2008 US Open at Torrey Pines through sectional tournaments. In 2010, Chaussard was named the Illinois PGA Assistant Player of the Year.
