The UIC women's golf team began the 2014-15 season with a strong performance at the third annual Chi-Town Classic Monday afternoon on their home course of Cog Hill Golf & Country Club. The Flames posted a team score of 319, the third best in program history and the lowest since Sept. 9, 2012 when UIC carded a 312 at the Detroit Titans Invite.
Garrett Chaussard, UIC women's golf volunteer assistant coach, placed third at the 92nd Illinois PGA Championship on Wednesday at Stonewall Orchard Golf Club. Chaussard, a PGA teaching professional at Cog Hill Golf and Country Club in Lemont, carded a final round 69, good for a tie for third place at 4-under par.
The UIC women's golf team will kick off the fall season on its home course of Cog Hill Golf and Country Club on Labor Day (Sept. 1) as they host the Chi-Town Classic for the third year in a row. The Flames tout six returning players for the 2014-15 campaign. Returnees include seniors Elizabeth Curtiss, Ryann Gilley, Cherise Mangal and Kayla Stueland, junior Caitlan Smollen and sophomore Shannon Menard.
UIC head women's golf coach Carol Rhoades recently announced that Garrett Chaussard has joined the program as a Volunteer Assistant Coach. Chaussard is a PGA Class A Instructor at Cog Hill Golf and Country Club, the competition home of the UIC Flames. UIC opens the 2014 Fall season at Cog Hill with the Chi-Town Classic on Sept. 1.
The UIC women's golf team kicks off the fall season on Labor Day at the Chi-Town Classic and the 2014 Fall Quick Facts are now available on UICFlames.com. The Chi-Town Classic is scheduled for Sept. 1 and will be held at Cog Hill Country Club in Lemont.
Junior Cherise Mangal fired a 76 during the second round of the 2014 Horizon League Championship. UIC finished the weekend in sixth with a three-round total of 985, four shots in front of Green Bay. The Flames' finish and their 54- hole total (985) are the best at the conference championship in program history.
