    CHICAGO - The accolades continue to pile up this week for UIC women's basketball player Shameia Green who was named this week's Horizon League Network People's Choice winner today.

    Green was up for the honor after securing Horizon League Women's Basketball Player of the Week honors on Monday. The redshirt junior poured in a career-high 32 points in UIC's only game last week at Eastern Illinois. Green shot 80-perent (12-for-15) from the field against the Panthers and was 4-for-6 (67-percent) from beyond the arc.

    Each of the Horizon League's Athletes of the Week is eligible for the weekly honor which is voted upon by the fans on the conference's web site, www.horizonleague.com.

    The Flames will play their fourth straight non-conference game against an in-state rival on Saturday when they do battle with the Illinois Fighting Illini at Chicago's United Center. The game between Lisa Ryckbosch and Jolette Law's women's teams will tip off at 10:30 a.m. and it will be followed by a contest between Howard Moore and Bruce Weber's men's squads at approximately 1 p.m.
