Pregame Dinner at the Dahnkes

MARTINSVILLE, Ill. - Before the UIC women's basketball team squared off against Indiana State this past Friday night, the Flames enjoyed a home cooked meal at redshirt senior Heidi Dahnke's childhood home in nearby Martinsville, Ill. The Dahnke family hosted the entire UIC squad along with support staff and the team bus driver. "We are very grateful that Heidi's family hosted us for our pregame dinner," said head coach Regina Miller. "They have been some of our best fans and we truly appreciate everything they have done for our program." The Dahnke's served a variety of different foods including grilled chicken, mostaccioli, baked potatoes, sweet corn and homemade bread and jelly. Their country home was decorated in full holiday gear as the team spent most of their time around the Christmas tree in the living playing with Dahnke's 10-month old nephew Cooper.
