Jessie Miller Earns All-Horizon League Preseason Honors

Chicago, Ill. - UIC junior guard Jessie Miller (Burnsville, Minn./Academy of Holy Angels) was named to the 2008-09 All-Horizon League Women's Basketball Preseason Second Team for the second straight year on Friday, Oct. 10. The Preseason All-Horizon League Teams were voted on by the league's coaches, sports information directors and select media members. Miller earned All-Horizon League Second Team honors as a sophomore in 2007-08 and was named to the Horizon League All-Newcomer Team following an impressive rookie season in 2006-07. The guard led the Flames in scoring with 14.0 points per game in 2007-08, an average that ranked seventh in the league. Miller also finished eighth in assists (3.4 apg), ninth in steals (1.8 spg) and fourth in three-pointers (2.1 3PT FG per game) in the league last season.
