CHICAGO – Former UIC women’s basketball player Jasmine Bailey recently signed a professional contract to play for Basket Parma in Italy, beginning in October.  The 2012 graduate finished her first professional season in Romania, competing for Sf. Gheorghe and leading the squad points (17.4) and steals (2.8) per game.  Bailey also ranked second on her Romanian team in rebounds (7.4) and assists (3.4).

The St. Louis native ended her Flames career as the program’s third-leading scorer (1,535) and rebounder (1,018), while guiding UIC to its first appearance in the Horizon League semifinals in five years.  As a senior, Bailey was named to the conference’s All-League First Team and shared team ‘MVP’ honors with fellow senior Shamiea Green.
