Regina Miller and the UIC Flames
Sport Tours’ Team of the Month, May 2014

    By SAM LEEPER

UIC Flames Head Women’s Basketball Coach, Regina Miller, has been a winner at all levels – as a player, assistant coach and head coach. She knows from experience, if you’re going to do something, do it to the best of your ability. The 2013-14 Flames bought into Miller’s philosophy and the results speak for themselves.

The team’s accomplishments this past season have built a strong foundation for UIC women’s basketball. In just her third year, Miller led the Flames to a program-record 26 wins, the first postseason championship in school history and the nation’s most dramatic turnaround. UIC collected 17 more wins (26-9) than the season before (9-21), which was the largest win differential among all 347 NCAA D-I women’s programs nationwide.

UIC capped off the program’s best season by winning the 2014 Women’s Basketball Invitational post season tournament title.
