CHICAGO- Hoop It Up, Inc. presents the 2009 UIC Women's Basketball Camps this summer at the Flames Athletic Center. Two four-day Fundamental Camp sessions for girls in grades 2-8 are offered from June 22-25 and June 29-July 2, while a pair of single-day elite camps are available for young ladies in grades 9-12 on June 19 and June 26. All camp sessions take place at the Flames Athletic Center, located at 839 W. Roosevelt Road on the UIC campus. Fundamental Camps run from 9 a.m. until 4 p.m. each day. These camps teach the fundamentals of the game of basketball in a structured yet fun environment for beginners and competitive players. Basic skill work and competitive games are at the forefront of this camp, which also provides a t-shirt and commemorative basketball to each camper. The two Elite Camp dates run from 10 a.m. until 5 p.m. and are tailored for the experienced player who seeks to improve her skills and compete against a higher level of competition. Elite Camps also give young players a glimpse into the UIC women's basketball program. UIC head coach Lisa Ryckbosch and her staff will be involved in every aspect of teaching and coaching at the camp, providing individual attention and a coach-to-player ratio that surpasses most summer camps. Fundamental Camps cost $175 per four-day session. Elite Camps cost $70 per single-day session, or campers can attend both Elite Camp days for a special price of $100.
