CHICAGO - The UIC women's basketball team held its End-of-Year Banquet with friends, family and Flames supporters on Thursday, April 22nd.

Senior Woman Adminstrator and former UIC player Tonya McGowan kicked off the evening by reflecting on the past season while looking forward to the year ahead.

Heidi Dahnke provided an Invocation and dinner was served.

Toward the end of dinner, the attendees watched a highlight video of the past season that was put together by assistant coach Jenni Dant.

Head coach Lisa Ryckbosch reflected on the season and thanked administrators, support staff and each individual player for their contribution to the Flames.

Following Ryckbosch's address, several awards were handed out. Jasmine Bailey and Jessie Miller were awarded their Horizon League Player of the Week awards and their awards for being named to the All-Horizon League Second Team. Bailey was also named to the All-Defensive Team, while freshman Taylor Foulks was honored for being selected to the league's All-Newcomer Team.

Bailey was named the team's Defensive Player of the Year and Miller captured the Offensive honor. Cassie Johnson was recognized for breaking UIC's all-time shot-blocking record.

Kristin Petrinec, who boasts a 3.96 GPA, was given the team's Academic Award; Foulks was awarded the Natalie Gonzalez Most Improved Player distinction.

Briana Hinkle, who battled back from a torn ACL in December 2008, won the Kathleen Meyers Grabemann "No Retreat No Surrender Coaches Award."

The Flames will return nine letterwinners in 2010.
