GREEN BAY, Wis. – UIC senior women’s basketball player Jasmine Bailey was named to the 2011-12 Horizon League All-Tournament team, announced by conference officials Sunday after the championship game.  Bailey averaged 19 points and 10 rebounds, while shooting 14-of-24 (.583) from the field in two tournament affairs.

Bailey becomes just the fourth player in UIC history to earn All-Tournament laurels and the first since the 2005-06 season (Dejeanette Flournoy , 2004-05; LaShonda Grant and Chrissy Dizon, 2005-06).

Bailey guided her team past No. 5 seed Butler in the quarterfinals by a final score of 66-53, posting 15 points and 13 rebounds.  The Flames eventually fell to nationally-ranked and No. 1 seed Green Bay in the semifinals, 73-53, as Bailey tallied a game-high 23 points.  The St. Louis, Mo., native received a standing ovation from the Phoenix fans as she exited the court in the final minute of that contest.

The Flames reached the semifinal round of the Horizon League Tournament for the first time in five years and currently hold a season record of 18-13.  Eighteen wins ties for the second-highest total in program history.

In hopes of continued postseason play, UIC awaits the WNIT 64-team field and WBI 16-team field announcements on Monday evening.
