UIC Women's Basketball Notes in PDF Format Get Acrobat Reader

Chicago, Ill. - The UIC women's basketball team clashes with crosstown rival Loyola on Saturday evening in a Horizon League matchup at the Pavilion. The battle between the Flames and Ramblers is set for a 5:00 p.m. tipoff.

Loyola leads the series by two victories, 27-25. UIC enters the contest 4-11 overall and 0-4 in league play, while the Ramblers own a 3-11 overall record and are 1-4 in conference action.

UIC has dropped Loyola in five straight contests. The Flames downed the Ramblers, 72-63, on Feb. 17, 2007 at the Pavilion.

The Flames are looking to pick up their fifth victory at home on Saturday. UIC is paced by sophomore Jessie Miller with 12.8 points per game. Junior Nikki Grobbecker leads the Flames on defense with 6.6 rebounds per game.

The Ramblers enter the game after topping Valparaiso by four points (64-60) at home on Jan. 12. Sophomore Maggie McCloskey owns a team-best 13.1 points per game. Freshman Brittany Boeke paces the squad on defense with 6.3 boards per game in her rookie season.

UIC heads to Wisconsin to face Milwaukee and Green Bay on Jan. 23 and 26.
