UIC Women's Basketball Notes in PDF Format Get Acrobat Reader

Chicago, Ill. - The UIC women's basketball team is looking to pick up its fifth home victory of the season against Butler on Saturday afternoon. The Flames and Bulldogs are set to tipoff at 4:30 p.m. at the Pavilion.

Butler leads the series (21-16), but the Flames lead the series at home, 9-7. This marks the 38th matchup between UIC and Butler.

The Flames are looking to rebound after being edged by Valparaiso at home, 72-63, on Thursday night. Freshmen Taylor Manley and Shanice Sadler each notched season-high performances.

Manley led the Flames with 18 points, while Sadler totaled a season-best 12 points. Sadler was also one rebound (9) shy of a double-double.

Butler is coming off a 61-50 victory over Loyola on the road on Jan. 10. The Bulldogs were powered by sophomore Susan Lester with 16 points, followed by Lade Akande (15) and Candace Jones (13). Lester picked up a double-double with 10 boards.

The Flames remain at home when they face crosstown rival Loyola on Saturday, Jan. 19 at 5:00 p.m.
