Final Stats

CHICAGO- The UIC women's basketball team fell to No. 25 Dayton, 73-46, at the UIC Pavilion on Monday night.

The visiting Flyers (6-1) came out of the gate quickly, opening the game with a 13-2 run in the first 4:03 of play.

The Flames (1-5) couldn't buy a bucket all night, shooting just 24.2 percent (8-for-33) in the first half. The shots didn't fall in the second half either, as UIC wound up at just 26.9 percent for the game.

Dayton shot 46.7 percent (14-for-30) in the first half and got a bit better in the second, firing at a 48.4 percent (15-for-31) clip.

After having three players record double-doubles last time out, UIC did not have a player in double figures in the scoring department. Sophomores Shameia Green and Kiara Strickland were the high scorers for the home team, netting nine points apiece.

Dayton's lone senior, Kendel Ross, led the way for her team, scoring 16 points and grabbing eight rebounds. Ross was 4-7 from downtown, with three of her three-pointers coming in the first half.

UIC returns to action on Friday afternoon when they take the short trip north to take on the DePaul Blue Demons. Tip off for that game is set for noon. Jordan Bernfield will call all the action from McGrath Arena. You can hear it live at www.uicflames.com.
