Chicago, Ill. - DePaul junior forward and Pre-Season All-American candidate Khara Smith shot a perfect 9-for-9 from the field and posted a double-double of 20 points and 12 rebounds in 21 minutes of action as the No. 17 Blue Demons rolled past the University of Illinois at Chicago women's basketball team for the 97-54 non-conference victory at the DePaul Athletic Center on Tuesday night.

Smith led four players in double-figures for DePaul, followed by Charlene Smith (17 points), Jenna Rubino (14 points) and Caprice Smith (11 points).

With the victory, DePaul remains undefeated at 5-0, while the Flames fall to 1-4 on the campaign.

The Blue Demons dominated on the glass, as they recorded 49 rebounds to the Flames' 22. DePaul nearly matched UIC's total rebound output with 21 offensive caroms on the evening.

For the game, DePaul shot a blistering 56.9% (37-for-65), while its five starters connected at a 66.7% clip (26-for-39). The Blue Demons were solid from beyond the three-point arc, knocking down 45% (9-for-20) of their attempts.

UIC sophomore forward Jacquay Holmes led the Flames with a career-high 19 points, while teammate Chrissy Dizon chipped in 10 points.

UIC will be back in action on Thursday evening, as they will travel to Charleston, Ill., to square off with the Eastern Illinois Panthers at 7:00 p.m.
