#25 UW-Green Bay Downs Women's Basketball, 72-59, In Horizon League Semifinals

Dayton, Ohio - UW-Green Bay senior guard Abby Scharlow posted a game-high, 24 points to lift the #25 Phoenix to the Horizon League Finals for the 10th-straight year with the 72-59 victory over the University of Illinois at Chicago women's basketball team at Wright State's Ervin J. Nutter Center on Sunday afternoon.
The Phoenix also received a double-double from senior forward Tiffany Mor (18 points, 14 rebounds), while teammate Nicole Soulis added 11 points off of the bench.
With the victory, UWGB improves to 26-3 on the season and will square off against the winner of the Wright State/Detroit semifinal, at 5:00 p.m. (CST) on Monday evening. UIC ends the campaign at 14-15.
UWGB was strong defensively as they forced 21 UIC turnovers on the afternoon, and held the Flames to 24.1% (7-for-29) shooting in the second half.
UIC senior forward Dejeanette Flournoy posted her seventh double-double of the season with 18 points and a season-high, 18 rebounds. Sophomore guard LaShonda Grant chipped in 13 points for the Flames, followed by sophomore forward Jacquay Holmes (10 points).
