    Milwaukee, Wis. - UW-Milwaukee senior center and Horizon League Player of the Year Maria Viall tallied a double-double of 22 points and 19 rebounds to lift the #2 Panthers to the 72-59 victory over the University of Illinois at Chicago in the Horizon League Women's Basketball Quarterfinals at the Klotsche Center on Thursday night.

    UWM sophomore forward Nichole Drummond chipped in 14 points for the Panthers, 12 of which came in the second half.

    UWM will advance to the Horizon League semifinals and will host Detroit at 2:00 p.m. on Sunday afternoon. UIC ends the season with a record of 12-16.

    UIC freshman guard Krystal Hugelier paced the Flames with 14 points, while junior center Dejeanette Flournoy added 12 points off the bench.

    The Panthers held a decided advantage over the Flames on the glass, out-rebounding UIC, 48-31.

    The Flames also converted five three-pointers on the night for a season total of 158, breaking the school-record of 157, set by the 1999-2000 squad.
