Women's Basketball Extends Winning Streak to Seven With 64-50 Win Over Loyola|

Chicago, Ill. - University of Illinois at Chicago sophomore guard LaShonda Grant posted a game-high, 21 points to lift the visiting Flames to their seventh-straight win with the 64-50 Horizon League victory over Loyola at the Joseph J. Gentile Center on Thursday night.
That win marks the longest winning streak in five years for UIC, as the Flames claimed seven in a row from Feb 12th-Mar. 9th, 2000.
With the victory, UIC brings its record back to .500 at 11-11 and moves to 8-3 in Horizon League action. Loyola drops to 5-15 on the campaign and 2-7 in conference play.
UIC was also solid on the defensive end, holding Loyola's top scorers, Ciara Henderson and Meshkenet Lands to 17 points on 8-for-24 shooting. In their previous meeting, Henderson and Lands combined to score 47 points on 16-for-25 shooting, including seven three-pointers.
Ramblers' sophomore forward Jenna Real posted a double-double of 16 points and 10 rebounds, while Lands chipped in 10 points.
The Flames will be back in action on Wednesday, as they will host Butler for a Horizon League showdown at 12:00 p.m. at the UIC Pavilion.
