Flames Win Exhibition Game Over Mississippi All-Stars

UIC women’s hoopsters begin conference play Jan. 13, at Wright State

Chicago, Ill. – With an eleven day layoff between its final non-conference game and the beginning of Midwestern Collegiate Conference play, UIC fine tuned its game with an 85-74 victory over the Mississippi All-Stars in an exhibition contest Saturday evening at the UIC Pavilion.

Freshman Consuela Hall led UIC with 18 points, on 6-of-9 shooting, while fellow freshman Jaysie Chambers posted a double-double with 16 points and 13 rebounds. LeKesha Williams also reached the double -double mark, finishing the night with 10 points and 10 boards.

UIC, which led 42-34 at the half, trailed by as many as nine (55-46) in the second period, but a 20-4 Flames’ run late in the half helped them secure the victory.

The Flames (5-8) open MCC play in Dayton, Ohio, on Thursday, Jan. 13, at 7:00 p.m. EST versus Wright State.
